Vietnamese-Canadian artist An Nguyen shares the research and creative process behind Fortune, her solo art exhibit marking the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War.

Through 20+ paintings and sculptures, Nguyen explores themes of migration, resilience, and belonging, drawing on archival research, family histories and her own experience as a Vietnamese boat person. Nguyen examines how art can preserve historical memory and bring personal stories into conversation with broader Canadian history.
