Guest Speaker

Stephen Jarrett, Project Manager, The Hill's 2019 Archeological Excavation

Details

Stephen Jarrett, Project Manager of the archeological excavation of Parliament Hill in 2019, will share stories and discoveries from his work. The Centre Block Rehabilitation Project is part of the long-term vision to conserve Parliament Hill for generations to come. From the inception of the project, archaeological resources have been managed and conserved as part of this process. As intense disturbance was and still is required of the soils and landscape of the hill, archaeological investigations and excavations preceded the work. During the course of this work, extensive archaeological resources have been found.  What was uncovered and how do these puzzle pieces all fit in with the history of Parliament Hill?
