060. Ninety-four Years of The Ottawa Journal  

Written by University Student, Matt Snyder, this pamphlet explores ‘The Ottawa Journal’ a very popular daily English-language newspaper which was started in 1885 by Alexander Smith Woodburn. Throughout its almost 100 year run, ‘The Journal’ had a rivalry with ‘The Ottawa Citizen' that helped shape both papers until ‘the Journal’s’ end in 1979.

This pamphlet is an edited version of a paper written for the University of Ottawa. This pamphlet is the 2nd of the series to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the HSO (see also pamphlets #59, 61, 62 & 64). ISBN No. 0-920960-73-1. May 1998.
