This pamphlet features twelve illustrated scenes along the canal from Ottawa to Kingston during the years 1850 to 1895. Written and oil paintings by Ruth F. Hall-McMillan.
Three of the paintings were on display at the Bytown Museum in the spring of 1976. The full series was subsequently exhibited at Ottawa City Hall in December 1976. Paintings have also been on loan to The Rideau Valley Conservation Authority and The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada. The HSO has prints of "The Commissariat and Rideau Locks 1893" available for sale. ISBN 0-920960-25-1. September 1991.
